EMAS Tommorrowland Ball 2016!

EMAS has taken on a new style of event for the first time ever this year to cater for our beloved university students and it was a huge success as everyone who went had a blast!

by Harriet Calverley

When Andrew and I first started working on the idea of EMAS Ball, I had no idea how it would turn out. After months of liaising with our wonderful suppliers on every detail, including Reece’s Event Hire who made the event possible with their generous support as our major sponsor, fiddling with the budget and planning all the decorations, I was truly amazed by how well the inaugural EMAS UWA ball turned out – and all the hard work was worth it.

Guests dressed to the nines for the beautiful (but cold) evening and many were thrilled with our pre-dinner entertainment – acoustic music by the talented Christian Zappia, and the opportunity to hold and have photos with the gentle snakes and lizards, provided by Slithers and Slides. Even those who were scared couldn’t keep the grin off their faces when they held the snakes (myself included!)

The marquee opened to reveal the stunning truss decoration and lighting feature, and from then the night flew by. Guests enjoyed the delicious buffet, plentiful dessert, and a moving speech by Joanne Suckling from the Cancer Council WA, on the real life impacts that our fundraising has on the community, before packing out the dancefloor until the final song.
